James Rosenquist

International award-winning, world-renowned artist James Rosenquist's career spans over five decades. He is known for his large scale paintings and as one of the leaders in the 1960’s Pop Art Movement. His masterful use of abstract techniques demonstrates his unique use of color of shape. His work has been displayed in museums all over the world, from Tokyo to Toronto, Portugal to Paris and almost everywhere in between, including the major museums in New York, amongst hundreds of others. Rosenquist is noted for his room-size paintings including the famous F-111, which was the largest artwork auctioned to date at Sotheby's.

His accolades are numerous, including a 6-year appointment by President Jimmy Carter to the National Council on the Arts, induction into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame (2001) and receiving the Legends Award from Pratt Institute (2005) and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Polk Museum of Art (2006). He has been granted honorary doctorates from a multitude of universities and continues to inspire artists of all generations.
